A woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha has made another first! On Tuesday, May 4th, 2021 at 9 pm EST Eboni K. Williams made her debut as the first Black housewife on the Real Housewives of New York City (RHONY). This is especially notable, since the show starring women from the most diverse city in the world hadn’t casted a Black woman since its inception in 2008.
Eboni had a headlining entrance and has already delivered many beautiful #blackgirlmagic moments! In her debut scene in Central Park, Eboni wore a hoodie with the names of the ‘Exonerated 5,’ then while filming in her Tribeca apartment she wore a pink crewneck with the words “Howard University, Alpha Kappa Alpha” sprawled across the middle in green-paying homage to the birthplace of this powerful sisterhood. Finally, when conversing about The Hamptons with her cast members at the end of the episode, she educated viewers about the rich history of Black homeownership in Sag Harbor, NY.
Hailing from Charlotte, NC native, Eboni graduated high school at the age of 16 and enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she majored in communications and African-American studies. She then went on to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a trial attorney and received her J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.
